Take on everyday ironing with a smooth glide and steam when you need it. The Russell Hobbs Ultra Steam Pro 23990 steam iron combines a ceramic soleplate with adjustable steam, spray and a stronger steam burst for stubborn creases. Its red-and-white design is made for ironing everyday shirts, trousers and household fabrics without needing a separate steam-generator base.

Key features at a glance

• Ceramic non-stick soleplate: Helps the iron move smoothly over suitable garments and into difficult areas.
• Continuous steam: Adds moisture while ironing to help relax ordinary creases.
• Steam shot and water spray: Give more control around seams, collars and persistent wrinkles.
• Vertical steam: Refresh suitable hanging garments and curtains without laying them flat.
• Anti-drip feature: Helps reduce unwanted water marks when using appropriate settings.
• Anti-calc and self-clean functions: Help with routine care of the steam system.
• Textured grip and control dial: Make changing settings and handling the iron more comfortable.

Everyday clothes and occasional touch-ups

Use the normal steam setting for a stack of cotton shirts, then select a burst of steam when a cuff or fold needs extra attention. The pointed tip helps reach between buttons and around collars. For a garment that is difficult to lay flat, the vertical-steam function offers another option provided the fabric care label allows steaming.

Steam iron or steam generator?

The Ultra Steam Pro suits shoppers who want a single, conventional steam iron with no separate water base to store. If you frequently iron very large laundry loads, a steam generator may offer a larger tank and sustained steam for longer sessions. This model gives a familiar handheld format with a useful range of steam controls.
