Unlimited repairs

No cap on the number of covered repairs during your plan term — parts, labour and call-out costs included.

Surge protection

Covered if your product breaks down because of a power surge, voltage fluctuation or electrical interference.

Wear & tear cover

Everyday use catches up on every appliance eventually. General wear and tear is covered, not just sudden breakdowns.

New-for-old replacement

Can't be repaired? We'll replace it spec-for-spec. Three repairs to the same component and a fourth fault means automatic replacement.

Transferable cover

Selling or gifting the product? Transfer the remaining cover to the new owner free of charge, once, within 14 days' notice to us.

Food spoilage cover

If a covered fault causes your fridge or freezer to fail, we'll reimburse reasonable food spoilage up to €150.

Laundry cover

If a covered washing machine or dryer fault damages your clothes, cleaning costs are covered up to €50.

Worldwide cover

Bring your covered product abroad and you're still protected, up to €150 towards the cost of a repair.

If something goes wrong

Making a claim takes three steps

01

Check the basics first

Have a quick look through the manufacturer's manual — sometimes a simple reset or check solves it before you need to call.

02

Call the Brightside Cover team

Ring 1800 819 240, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm (excluding Irish public holidays), with your receipt to hand.

03

Get it authorised & fixed

Once approved, an authorised repairer takes it from there. If it can't be repaired, you'll get a spec-for-spec replacement.

What are my rights as a consumer?
You may have rights of law against the seller or manufacturer of the product under warranties and guarantees expressed or implied by mandatory provisions of law.

Your Brightside Extended Warranty Cover Plan does not replace these rights or make them void. However, You can choose to claim under Your Plan and Your claim will be handled quickly and efficiently by Our customer service team. For further information about Your legal rights we suggest You contact the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission at Bloom House, Railway Street, Dublin 1, D01 C576, Consumer Helpline 1890 432 432 or visit www.ccpc.ie.
What exactly is Brightside Extended Warranty Cover?
It's a plan that extends the protection you already get from your manufacturer's warranty for a further 2, 3 or 4 years, covering breakdowns, wear and tear, and more — so you're not stuck with unexpected repair or replacement bills once the original warranty ends.
Can I buy cover after I've already bought my product?
No — Brightside Extended Warranty Cover must be purchased at the same time as your product and can't be added as a standalone item afterwards, so it's worth deciding at checkout.
How do I make a claim?
Call the Brightside Cover team on 1800 819 240, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm (excluding Irish public holidays), with your receipt ready. Get authorisation before arranging any repair — costs aren't covered if a repair goes ahead without approval first.
Can I cancel my cover?
Yes. You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date of purchase in which you can cancel for a full refund, as long as no claim has been made. After that, the plan runs for its full term.
What happens if I sell or give away my product?
You can transfer the remaining cover to the new owner at no charge, once, as long as you notify the Brightside Cover team in writing within 14 days of the change of ownership.
What if my product can't be repaired?
If it can’t be repaired, Brightside will replace it spec for spec, taking into consideration other factors for example, brand and colour. If Brightside cannot source a suitable replacement you will be offered store credit to use with Expert or a cash reimbursement
Am I still covered if I travel abroad with my product?
Yes — cover applies worldwide, contributing up to €150 towards the cost of a covered repair while you're outside Ireland.
Who actually looks after my plan?
In Ireland, Extended Warranty Cover is administered by Frith Service Contracts Ltd, trading as Brightside, which is regulated by the Central Bank of Ireland. Always check the current Insurance Product Information Document for the underwriter and exact terms attached to your specific product.
Where can I read the full Terms & Conditions?
