Humm is a form of credit that allows eligible customers to spread the cost of purchases over an agreed repayment period rather than paying the full amount upfront. The finance plans, repayment periods, interest rates and fees available can vary depending on the retailer, purchase amount and individual agreement.

Have your documents ready

Humm may require photo ID, proof of your PPS number and earnings, recent bank statements and proof of address as part of its assessment.

Humm assesses your application

Once Humm has received all required documentation, it says an application decision will usually be provided within 24 hours. It may take longer during busy periods.

Complete your Expert purchase

If approved, add your products to your basket, continue to checkout and select Humm. You will then be directed through Humm's process to review and complete your purchase.

Who can apply?

Humm eligibility at a glance

Humm assesses every application individually. To apply, you must meet its minimum eligibility requirements.

18 years or older

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Irish residency

You must be an Irish citizen or a permanent resident of Ireland.

€1,500+ monthly income

Minimum taxable income of €1,500 per month. A spouse or partner's income is not included.

ID, PPS & credit history

You need a current debit or credit card, photo ID, PPS/address evidence and a good credit history.

Meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee approval or a particular credit limit. Humm carries out its own credit assessment before making a lending decision.

What is Humm finance?
Humm is a form of credit that allows approved customers to spread the cost of eligible purchases over an agreed repayment period. The terms, interest rate and any applicable fees depend on the particular finance plan offered to you.
How do I use Humm on Expert.ie?
Add your products to your basket and proceed through the Expert.ie checkout. Where Humm is available, select Humm as your payment option. You will be directed through Humm's process to log in or apply, review the finance terms and complete the purchase.
How much can I finance with Humm?
Humm advertises finance for purchases of up to €30,000 across its participating retailers. The amount you personally qualify for is determined by Humm following its credit assessment and approval process.
Is Humm interest-free?
Humm offers different finance plans and some plans may offer a 0% interest rate. Other plans may include interest, an application fee and/or an account keeping fee. The available plans vary by retailer and transaction, so always check the exact quote and agreement presented by Humm before completing your purchase.
Who can apply for Humm?
Humm's current minimum criteria include being at least 18 years old, being an Irish citizen or permanent resident of Ireland, earning at least €1,500 in taxable income per month, having a current debit or credit card and photo ID, providing PPS number and address evidence, and having a good credit history. All applications remain subject to Humm's assessment and approval.
What documents might I need?
Humm may ask for a passport or driving licence, evidence of earnings and your PPS number, recent bank statements and proof of address. The exact documents requested can depend on your circumstances and application.
How long does a Humm application take?
Humm states that once all required documentation has been received, an application decision will usually be provided within 24 hours. Applications may take longer during busy seasonal periods.
Can I part-pay with Humm?
Humm says part-payment may be available for in-store purchases, where part of the purchase is paid using Humm and the balance by cash or card. Part-payment is not currently available through Humm's online checkout process, so your available Humm approval must be sufficient to cover the amount being financed online.
Can I repay my Humm finance early?
Yes. Humm states that you can repay your agreement early without an additional early-repayment fee. Your current outstanding balance can be viewed through your Humm customer portal.
When will my first Humm payment be taken?
This depends on the finance plan you choose. Some plans require an initial instalment or application fee at the time of purchase, while other Humm loan products allow the first repayment date to be selected within one month of purchase. Your exact payment schedule will be shown in your agreement before you accept it.
What happens if I miss a repayment?
Missing a repayment can put your account into arrears. Humm currently states that a €9 dishonour fee can apply where an eligible payment remains unpaid after the due date. Continued arrears may also affect your credit record and your ability to obtain credit in the future. If you are having difficulty making repayments, contact Humm as early as possible.
Can I get a Humm quote before buying?
Yes. You can use Humm's Expert Online quote service to enter the amount you plan to spend and view the finance options currently available for Expert before completing your purchase.
